Kuroko no Basuke advances to its third cour and its 51st episode overall. The episode is a balanced recap of what happened so far in the Winter Cup (in the form of an interview to the players of Seirin) and as the start of the next game of the Winter Cup.
Animation seems to have slightly improved as compared to the previous season, as this may well be the last season of the show (although EXTRA Game may be animated years later). It has been announced that the current run will have 26 episodes, bringing the total KnB episode count to 76.
Warning: spoilers ahead
After the victorious battle with Yosen, the Seirin basketball team is asked for an interview by Basketball Montly. Afterwards, Kuroko urges Kagami to talk to Tatsuya Himuro and settles things out, to which Kagami hesitantly agrees. Kagami heads outside to talk only to find Himuro and Alex being attacked by a cocky player. Enter the new enemy: Shogo Haizaki from Fukuda Sogo Gakuen. Things are going south but Ryota Kise appears just in time to stop the confrontation, and reveals to them that Haizaki was once a starter from Teiko Middle School, before Kise joined the legendary middle school basketball team. Kise and Haizaki still has some score to settle, and Kise intends to face Haizaki in court. Thus, the next featured game in the Winter Cup begins: Kaijo High vs Fukuda Sogo - a showdown between former Teiko members Ryota Kise and Shogo Haizaki!
