What happens when a mysterious octopoid creature that travels at the speed of mach 20 destroys 70% of the moon and announces that he is going to destroy the earth after a year unless you kill him first? The answer: you grant his request to become a teacher! Welcome to Kunigigaoka Junior High School Class 3-E, the Assassination Classroom. There is only one goal: kill the unkillable octopoid teacher aka Koro Sensei! The reward: 10 billion yen! Time limit: 1 year!
This is not your standard action anime. Although Assassination Classroom's premise is the destruction of Earth, the story is not as dark as you think. Koro Sensei lives up to his job as a teacher as he looks out for the grades and the well-being of the individual students in Class 3-E. The show has lots of gags and life lessons along the way. Surprisingly, the animation and visuals of the show (Studio Lerche) are top-notch for a gag/action anime and far surpasses that of Assassination Classroom's OVA Special that was shown a couple of years back. The show is set to have 22 episodes in total. Pick up this show if you want some action and laughs - or just want to experience (or re-experience) how exciting school life can be.

Warning: minimum spoilers ahead
The class starts. The teacher walks in, starts taking attendance and the entire class readies their... weapons?! It's a wild shootout as the whole Class 3-E attempts to "assassinate" the being that destroyed 70% of the moon. Unfortunately for them, they fail as their teacher evades every bullet as he moves at mach 20 and completes taking attendance without a problem. This is just a typical scenario for Class 3-E. Along the way, it is revealed how Koro Sensei started to teach at Kunigigaoka Junior High. We also meet Karasuma which will be an important part of the class in the near future. Kunigigaoka Junior High also has a dark secret, which connects to the reason why the Class 3-E is located in a remote area in the mountains far away from the school's main campus (and it is NOT to isolate Koro Sensei). We get to see the many faces of Koro Sensei (literally) and of course, more attempts to kill Koro Sensei.
The show is off to a good start and is one of the shows this season that has a lot of potential.
